At CREW-B, we go beyond standard 3D laser scanning. To boost the accuracy of our scans and models, we incorporate high-precision GPS measurements. Using our own advanced GPS surveying systems, we accurately position projects within the official NAP elevation and RD coordinate system—ensuring perfect spatial alignment and enhanced measurement reliability.

By combining GPS with 3D scanning, your point clouds and 3D models aren’t just detailed—they’re georeferenced to the exact position within Dutch national coordinate systems. This is essential for projects in construction, infrastructure, and industrial environments, where accurate location data is critical.


What Are GPS Measurements and Why Do They Matter?
A GPS system determines exact coordinates using satellite signals. In the Netherlands, positioning is often recorded using the Rijksdriehoeksstelsel (RD coordinates) and Normaal Amsterdams Peil (NAP) elevation—national standards that enable consistent and accurate spatial reference.

How Does a GPS Surveying System Work?
A GPS surveying system uses signals from multiple satellites orbiting the earth. By calculating the time delay between sent and received signals, it determines an accurate ground position.

For high-accuracy positioning, we use:

RTK-GPS (Real-Time Kinematic) – A technique using correction signals to deliver centimeter-to-millimeter level accuracy.
RD Coordinates – The official Dutch coordinate system for land surveying and infrastructure alignment.
Integration with 3D Laser Scanning – By applying GPS data to point clouds, we ensure spatially correct models and precise alignment on site.
